2011.8.24. Germany - Astronomy

Two FDCs from Germany. The motives of this year's "youth brands" let us look into the universe. Astronomy fascinated and occupied mankind for thousands of years. As early Babylonians and Assyrians gave some very bright stars a name. For us today these are the constellations we can see a clear night sky. Much time passed until 400 years ago, the law of motion of celestial bodies by Johannes Kepler was detected. The knowledge about the true nature of the objects in the sky is much younger. Until less than a hundred years ago, Edwin Hubble realized that there is beyond our own galaxy, the Milky Way, yet another such star systems in the universe. The space telescope named after him today gives us the colorful images of these objects. Thank you, Martin.
